Pico Interactive has recently launched its new Virtual Reality glasses Pico Neo 3 Link. This is the first model that the brand has designed exclusively for consumers. Pico has opted for a complete 'all-in-one' product, which comes with everything necessary for its operation, including a 5-metre DisplayPort cable and controllers.
The Pico Neo 3 Link has been presented with features that compete with the well-known Meta model, the Oculus Quest 2, one of the leading viewers on the market. The two models share the same processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2, the same RAM (6 GB) and also have four cameras and a screen resolution of 1832 x 1920 LCD per eye. In terms of storage capacity, the Pico is available in a single 256GB version, while the Quest offers three models of 64, 158 and 256GB.
Standalone and SteamVR model
Both the Neo 3 Link and Quest 2 viewers are standalone devices, but they also support Virtual Reality for PC, allowing you to play VR content on Steam and elsewhere. In addition, in both cases, the two viewers allow a wireless connection to your home Wi-Fi network and unlike Quest 2, Pico Neo 3 Link supports uncompressed PC VR via DisplayPort cable.
Pico's large catalogue of games
Another of the features offered by Pico is an extensive library with around 4,000 titles and some 200 games in Standalone mode, including: SUPERHOT VR, After the Fall, Demeo, Walkabout Minigolf, OhShape or Larcenauts. The Pico Neo3 Link provides access to the SteamVR library, the largest library of Virtual Reality content compatible with gaming PCs, without the need for a social network account.
More playing time
The Pico Neo 3 Link has a 5,300 mAh battery that can last up to 3 hours of use, unlike the Quest 2 (3,640 mAh), which lasts about 2 hours, although in terms of total weight, the Meta glasses weigh 503 grams, compared to the Pico Neo 3 Link's 668 grams.
Price of the new Pico glasses
The Pico Neo 3 Link is now available for pre-order through XRshop, the only partner in Spain, with delivery scheduled from 24 May and a starting price of €449 with 256GB storage. A launch with only 22,000 units available.
Beta Model
Pico is already working on another model which is scheduled for release in the next 12 months. An improved version of the Pico Neo 3 Link Beta model, which will be modified based on consumer feedback. For this reason, the company has announced that people who buy a Pico Neo 3 Link now will benefit from a 35% discount on the purchase of this future model. The discount will be applied as long as the initiative has been successful.
