No matter what you shoot, with Canon's EOS R5 you can unleash your creativity like never before, with 45MP photos at up to 20fps with electronic shutter or 12fps with mechanical shutter, and Full Frame RAW video in 8K. Those shooting portraits, travel or weddings will enjoy the camera's AF system, programmed with deep learning AI to track people's eyes, heads and faces to keep them in focus. The EOS R5 also recognises cats and dogs, and even birds, ideal for nature photography. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II is incredibly fast to focus and features 5940 selectable AF positions, covering virtually 100% of the frame. Fast-moving subjects stay sharp, even when moving fast and unpredictably, while face/eye detection is excellent for portraits with shallow depth of field.
Innovative Intelligent AF
The camera's autofocus is programmed using deep learning AI, first developed for our revolutionary EOS-1D X Mark III. This allows the EOS R5 to recognise and track a subject's face and eyes with new levels of accuracy, even when viewed from the side. This tracking is also possible when photographing dogs, cats and birds, and even motor vehicles - a feature available for the first time on EOS cameras.
