Ready for the Metaverse 

Meta's viewfinder features 10 sensors with hand, eye and face tracking. Plus an IR depth sensor for Mixed Reality. Only 5 of the cameras will be dedicated to face and eye tracking. In this way, facial expressions can be better captured and reproduced on the Metaverse avatars in order to improve communication in virtual environments. Another new feature is the improvement of the recognition technology with a clear improvement in the tracking of hand movements, making it easier to interact with the menus and the game.

New controllers with haptic capabilities 

One of the key features of the new Quest Pro visor are the accompanying controllers, known as 'Starlet', integrated with 3 infrared cameras and Snapdragon 662 chips that will achieve independent tracking of the visor's cameras, as well as run the technology so that the controllers themselves can track themselves within a space. They also have sensors to provide a haptic experience with high-quality reactive vibrations. In order to realise all these functionalities, a rechargeable base is included in the box.

New lenses with Pancake technology  

A fuller field of view is provided by the Pancake lenses as opposed to the Fresnel lenses of the Oculus Quest 2. With the lenses closer to the screen and a thinner design, they allow for a lighter model and provide a more realistic view.

New displays with MiniLED lenses

Another way in which the Quest Pro will provide more field of view is by tilting the displays, which are tilted at an angle of 21 degrees towards each other in the viewfinder. In addition, the viewfinder incorporates a 2.48-inch mini-led lens with a resolution of 2160x2016px at a frequency of 90 Hz. Although the rendering that Meta allows will be 1800 x 1920 pixels per eye.
