The HOTAS WARTHOG USB joystick with dual power controller is the result of intensive collaboration between Thrustmaster's development teams and members of the flight simulation enthusiast community. During the product development phase, constant exchanges and studies have been carried out to create a joystick that meets the most exacting and specific requirements of the experts. The result is the HOTAS WARTHOG: a replica of the joystick, dual power system and dual power control panel of the U.S. Air Force's A-10C attack aircraft.

    Description

    Joystick Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog

The HOTAS WARTHOG joystick has a physically imposing appearance thanks to its more than 6.5 kg of weight and the metal construction of the joystick, power levers and bases. The HOTAS WARTHOG is a product like no other, with 55 fully programmable action buttons and 2 four-way hat switches, each with an integrated push button (the first joystick in the world to incorporate such a function).

The most precise and full-featured joystick in existence

The joystick incorporates 19 action buttons, plus a "Point Of View" hat. It provides extreme precision, thanks to the H.E.A.R.T HallEffect AccuRate Technology magnetic sensor system it employs: 16-bit precision (65,536 x 65,536 values), without gimbal suspensions. In addition, pressing the joystick buttons and triggers requires pressure identical to that needed in a real aircraft, a first in the world of joysticks. Special attention has been paid to the freedom of use for simulation enthusiasts, which is why the joystick lever is detachable, as is the joystick base (to allow the user to install the joystick in a cockpit).

Pull and Push power system with detachable Afterburner

The power component has also been designed in detail, with a dual power system that allows independent control of 2 motors: a locking system makes it easy for the user to join the 2 power controls together or keep them independent of each other. The magnetic sensor technology used for the power controls (14-bit resolution, with 16,384 values on each power control) provides unrivalled precision. Switching to the Idle and Afterburner detents is done via a Pull and Push system, for even greater realism. The Afterburner detent is detachable, so users can perfectly match the power control to the type of aircraft they are flying. The power controls incorporate a total of 17 action buttons, a "Point of View" hat and a "mouse hat / slew control".

Control panel with 5 programmable LEDs

The final mechanical component of the product, the control panel, provides a wide number of varied controls. It includes a friction wheel, with which users can manually adjust the resistance of the power knobs to their liking. It also features backlighting of the functions, which users will certainly appreciate when flying at night; the 5 programmable LEDs are also useful when using it in dark or low-light conditions. The base includes a trim wheel and 15 action buttons, including numerous push buttons with resistance identical to a real aircraft and industrial metal switches (2 or 3 positions) with very realistic pressure.
